Welcome! I am a Toronto-based visual artist, born in Montreal to Trinidadian parents, working mainly with pencil and paint, but not shying away from digital work. My work is inspired by my Afro-Caribbean culture, my personal experiences, creativity, personal triumph, and especially my love of music. My subjects have mainly been people, as well as animals, landscapes and concepts. My work has been shown at the Royal Ontario Museum and ARTA Gallery in Toronto ON, at Cheri in Harlem NY, and on the television series The Divide, and has reached art lovers and art buyers domestically and internationally. I've conducted art workshops for children and adults, painted live at various events, and created work for a diverse clientele. My works have been collected by and are currently on display at Hirut Cafe & Jazz Venue in Toronto. Check out and purchase my jazz-inspired Stylistic Relaxation colouring book. Purchase prints of my artwork from Fine Art America, Pixels and Redbubble. Send inquiries regarding purchasing original artwork, commissions and custom artwork to rachelnatalieart@gmail.com. Using deep, warm, earthy, cool, bold colors in my work, adding texture here and there, lighting it up with iridescence - every brushstroke comes from my heart to create a piece that I hope will reach yours. "I hope you feel me, from where I am, to wherever you are. I mean that sincerely." - Yasiin Bey Your friendly fine artist, Rachel Natalie Rawlins |
